Al Wijha

الوجهة — a Saudi property platform for verified sales and rentals. Built Arabic-first with full right-to-left layout, not an English site with the text flipped.

The problem

Most property portals in the region are built in English and translated afterwards. The result reads badly, breaks in right-to-left layouts, and quietly signals to Arabic-speaking buyers that they were an afterthought.

Architecture

Next.js with Postgres, running as its own Docker Compose stack. Arabic is the primary locale, with layout, typography and search all designed RTL-first; English is the secondary locale.

What I built

Property search filtered by city, type and price, working correctly in both directions. Verified listings for sale and rent across the Kingdom. A separate staging deployment so the client could review changes before anything went to the public domain.

Infrastructure

Containerised web and database services behind Apache with TLS, alongside a preview environment on a subdomain for client sign-off.

The outcome

Live at alwijha.co, with the working platform running on a staging subdomain during rollout.
